Nidia Perkins

Hola! I am a bilingual Pre-K teacher at Silver Lake Elementary. I was born and raised in Venezuela where I studied at Universidad Central de Venezuela and I worked as an Occupational Doctor for oil exploration companies. My wonderful family is the center of my life. My husband is from Mississippi. I met him while he was working for an oil exploration company in Venezuela. We were married in the United States and then started our family. My husband’s job has taken us to many places. We have lived in Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia before moving to Grapevine in 2003. We have two children. I am very proud to be an American citizen. Although I worked as a doctor in Venezuela, I have always had a desire to teach and serve my community. I believe I am best suited to serve the Hispanic and American community of Grapevine by working as a bilingual teacher. Educational Career Alternative Programs (ECAP) has trained me and I have also worked as a volunteer at Timberline Elementary and in Coppell ISD. I have an excellent team of teachers with the same goal-helping students to become successful! Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions at [email protected].
