Pre-K Teacher

Welcome to Ms. Ackels' Pre-K Class!
I am thrilled to be teaching Pre-K at Silver Lake Elementary, and I am so excited for the opportunity to accompany your children in their growth and learning. Thank you for sharing your children with me this year! 

As a teacher, I hope to create an environment for my students that ignites a love of learning, instills a sense of belonging at school, and builds a strong foundation for their education.  I  love teaching and I love children!  I always strive to provide my students with a caring, welcoming classroom where they can feel that they are challenged, loved, and supported in their learning.  It is important to me to form strong partnerships with parents, as you are your child's most important teacher.  I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and International Studies, and certifications in Early Childhood-6th as well as teaching English as a Second Language.  I have worked in education for more than a decade, and I have taught children in Early Childhood Education since 2013.

I grew up in Dallas, and I love spending time with my family in my spare time.  I live in Grapevine with my husband, my three sons, and my cat! You can often find me playing Ultimate Frisbee, rock climbing, doing yoga, or perhaps playing the piano or guitar.  I love to have fun, and most of all I love to make learning fun and engaging for my students.
