Hello My Name Is...

Robert Rain

Robert Rain

I am delighted to have the opportunity to shine with the Shooting Stars at Silver Lake!

My goal as Assistant Principal is to support, empower, and enrich teachers and staff so that our Shooting Stars can light up the skies of our fair city and beyond. I believe that the journey is much more important than the destination. I believe it is essential to make mistakes in order to grow. I believe that we must be kind and lift each other up - always.

A little about me…
After serving several Texas school districts as a master teacher and instructional leader for eleven years, I moved to the state level. For four years, I worked as State Literacy Liaison/Senior Field Trainer/Analyst for The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk and The Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. I was honored to lead a team that provided professional development and technical assistance to school districts - along with their associated early childhood education providers - across the GREAT state of Texas! Additionally, I served as Learning Liaison right here at Silver Lake for two years.

I hold an M.Ed. in School Administration and a BFA in Theatre and Television. Additionally, I attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. As an educator and an artist, I leveraged my skills by promoting literacy through Fine Arts in schools at the elementary and secondary levels. Currently, I am approaching the finish line for my doctoral work. I hope to complete my Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Management by next summer!

I have built my family through international and open adoption. I am the proud dad of two boys, Sebastian and Kyan.
